Publishing procedure for scientific articles published in scientific journals published by University Publishing House of the WSG University in Bydgoszcz


Legal basis

  1. Art. 267 ust. 2 pkt 2 i 3 ustawy z dnia 20 lipca 2018 r. – Prawo o szkolnictwie wyższym i nauce (Dz.U. z 2022 r., poz. 574 z późn. zm.).
  2. § 2 ust. 1 Rozporządzenia Ministra Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego z dnia 7 listopada 2018 r. w sprawie sporządzania wykazów wydawnictw monografii naukowych oraz czasopism naukowych i recenzowanych materiałów z konferencji międzynarodowych (Dz.U. z 2019 r., poz. 2341 z późn. zm.);
  3. § 9 i § 10 Rozporządzenia Ministra Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego z dnia 22 lutego 2019 r. w sprawie w sprawie ewaluacji jakości działalności naukowej (Dz.U. z 2022 r., poz. 661).

 

General provisions

  1. University Publishing House of the WSG University in Bydgoszcz, hereinafter referred to as the Publishing House, introduces a publishing procedure.
  2. The publishing procedure applies to all scientific articles published in scientific journals published by University Publishing House of the WSG University in Bydgoszcz, hereinafter referred to as articles
  3. All parties involved in the publication process (publisher, editor-in-chief of the journal, editorial secretary, thematic and statistical editors, reviewers and the author) are obliged to comply with this Publishing procedure, the Scientific Review Procedure and the Principles of Publication Ethics in force at University Publishing House of the WSG University in Bydgoszcz.

 

General scheme of the flow of the submitted text

Detailed course of the publishing process of the article

  1. The author, through Open Journal Systems (OJS), submits an article to the journal, prepared in accordance with the Editorial requirements and fills in information about the author(s) and an appropriate declaration containing:
    • a statement on the originality of the work and the transfer to the publisher of the exclusive right to publish and distribute the article in printed form and in the form of an electronic publication;
    • in the case of co-authorship, specifying the percentage share of individual authors in the preparation of the work;
    • a statement on reading the Principles of Publication Ethics and the information clause.
  1. The managing editor of the journal receives an e-mail notification (sent automatically by the system) about a new application; checks whether all elements have been correctly uploaded to the system by the author.
  2. The managing editor of the journal, in cooperation with the secretary of the Publishing House, checks the text using the anti-plagiarism tool, and then assigns the article to the editor-in-chief of the journal.
  3. The review procedure (internal and external) described in the document Review procedure for scientific articles published in scientific journals published by University Publishing House of the WSG University in Bydgoszcz begins.
  4. The editor-in-chief, after inviting the reviewers, forwards the necessary reviewers' data to the secretary of the Publishing House, who starts the procedure of preparing the relevant agreements.
  5. After the review procedure is completed, the editor-in-chief of the journal decides whether to accept or reject the text. If the text is accepted for publication, the author accepts the final version of the article.
  6. After receiving the final versions of the articles from the editor-in-chief along with the authors' statements, the results of the anti-plagiarism procedure and reviews, the secretary of the Publishing House starts the process of typesetting and printing the journal

Final Provisions

  1. The Publishing House, in consultation with the Editorial Board or the Scientific Council of the journal, in the event of discovering scientific misconduct, proceeds in accordance with the procedure recommended by COPE. The procedure algorithm can be found here.
  2. If the author of the monograph introduces changes after prior approval of its final version, the costs of these changes are borne by the author of the monograph.
